Department of Biomedical Engineering

The department of biomedical engineering at Hanyang University was established in 2005, with its origin in the medical school dating back to 1996. As of 2019, our department is comprised of 9 full-time faculty members, 8 research laboratories, 120 undergraduate students, and about 100 graduate students. Our department has been consistently ranked as one of the best biomedical engineering universities in Korea, as measured by various factors that reflect its strength in research and education. The specific research areas in the department include artificial muscle, energy harvesting, brain-machine interface, brain imaging, MRI, smart healthcare, neuromodulation, computational neuroscience, flow cytometry.
